Introduction — WiFi 6 Performance at Affordable Price

The Cudy WR3000 AX3000 WiFi 6 Router is a dual-band WiFi 6 router designed to provide high-speed wireless connectivity for home and small office users.

I purchased this router from Computer Planet Nepal for approximately Rs. 6000–6125 (NPR) after minor price negotiation.

This is a personal, honest review based on real-world configuration and testing.

Overall, I am fully satisfied with this router.

📦 Unboxing Experience — Surprisingly Solid Weight

At first glance, the router looks lightweight.

However, after unboxing, I was surprised to find that the device actually feels heavier than expected.

The body is made from hard plastic material.

I would rate the premium feel around 70% — it is not 100% flagship-level premium construction, but it is definitely better than typical budget routers.

The design is travel-friendly and can also be used as a portable WiFi router solution.

📜Documents:

🚀 WiFi 6 Performance — Main Highlight

The WiFi 6 performance of this router is excellent in real usage testing.

I connected the router as an Access Point (AP) mode using the WAN port from my DishHome 200Mbps FTTH connection.

Speed Test Result

  • Achieved full 200Mbps speed according to my internet plan

  • Connection was stable across rooms

  • No significant bandwidth drop observed

I was honestly shocked by the WiFi 6 performance.

📡 Frequency Band Performance

🌐 5GHz Band — Main Driver

I use the 5GHz band as my primary network channel.

Observations:

  • Long-range coverage compared to expectation

  • Stable high-speed throughput

  • Ideal for streaming and gaming

This band provides the best performance for high bandwidth usage.

📶 2.4GHz Band — Guest Network Usage

The 2.4GHz band is mainly used for guest connectivity.

Performance results:

  • Speed range approximately 120 – 140 Mbps

  • Very impressive for 2.4GHz WiFi 6 operation

This is significantly better than traditional WiFi 4 or WiFi 5 2.4GHz networks.

🔥 160 MHz Channel Width Advantage

Both frequency bands support 160 MHz WiFi 6 channel configuration.

This feature helps improve:

  • Peak throughput speed

  • Low latency communication

  • Multi-device performance handling

For home usage, this is a strong technical advantage.

🌐 Access Point Mode — My Preferred Setup

Currently, I am using this router in Access Point mode.

Network architecture:

This setup allows:

  • Better WiFi coverage

  • Higher wireless performance

  • Stable multi-room connectivity

🔐 Captive Portal & Hotspot System Limitation

One important observation is related to captive portal configuration.

The router does not provide:

  • Native cloud captive portal management

  • Built-in branded captive portal system

If custom captive portal functionality is required, third-party authentication solutions must be used.

This is important for advanced hotspot deployment.

🎮 WISP Mode Performance

I also tested the WISP (Wireless ISP) mode.

The feature worked surprisingly well and provided stable connectivity.

The WISP functionality is suitable for:

  • Travel networking

  • Secondary wireless relay setups

💡 Portability — Travel Router Capability

The router can be considered a travel-friendly WiFi 6 router because of its compact design.

It can be easily transported and used in different locations.

💰 Price Value — Nepal Market Analysis

I bought this router for around Rs. 6000 NPR, which is a very good price in Nepal.

In online marketplaces like Daraz (ecommerce platform), the price is usually around Rs. 6500 NPR.

After personal bargaining from Computer Planet Nepal, I got a better deal.

Considering the WiFi 6 performance, I believe this router offers good value in the Nepal market.

⭐ Overall Rating — 5 out of 5

  • Build quality: 4.5 out of 5

  • WiFi 6 performance: 5 out of 5

  • Software configuration: 5 out of 5
